Product Description

If you love great sound you must experience the magic of Definitive's BP7001SC Bipolar SuperTowers. Their patented combination of bipolar technology (for rich life-like, room-filling, three-dimensional sound) and built-in SuperCube technology subs (for lightning-fast, earthshaking bass) delivers absolutely unsurpassed sonic performance. Combine them with perfectly matched Definitive centers and surrounds for an extraordinary home theater system which is, to quote HDTV Insider, "a mind-boggling sonic achievement."

Each BP7001SC combines a built-in 10" SuperCube® subwoofer driven by a 1500-Watt class D amplifier and two pressure-coupled 10" Low Bass radiators for 235.5 square inches of bass radiating area per speaker! That's nearly the surface area of a single 18-inch woofer but with better control, speed and detail than a single big woofer could ever deliver. The dual built-in powered subwoofers achieve dramatically better blending, integration and timbre accuracy than could ever be achieved with separate subs.

Each BP7001SC features bipolar D'Appolito front and rear mounted driver arrays each consisting of two high-definition cast-basket 6-1/2" bass/midrange drivers surrounding a 1" annealed Pure Aluminum dome tweeter. Linkwitz-Riley crossover networks do a superlative job of seamlessly blending the drivers for totally homogeneous sonic output as if radiating from a full-range pulsating sphere.

  • Left-channel bipolar supertower (the right-channel BP7001SC supertower is needed to make a pair)
  • Equipped with four 6.5-inch high definition cast-magnesium basket polymer upper bass/midrange drivers
  • Equipped with two 1-inch pure aluminum dome tweeters with silk surrounds
  • Equipped with one 10-inch long-throw subwoofer coupled to two 10-inch infrasonic radiators
  • Frequency response: 13Hz - 30kHz

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful sound after 100 hours break-in, January 10, 2013

I have a pair of Def Tech BP2004, CLR2002 center, BP2X and BP1X as surround, and Super cube 2 sufwoofer for couple years and I always want to upgrade my main speakers to BP7002 but they are nowhere to be found unless buying used via Ebay or Craigslist. I found these BP7001SC on Amazon via Listenup and I could not resist. I have spent countless hours on many audio forums and everyone seems to praise this model. I got the speakers in 2 days and they are heavy. It took me almost an hour to unpack and move them to my living room myself. Hooking them up to my Onkyo TX-NR876 and I could hear the difference in every sound note. I ran several CDs in low audio for couple days to break-in these speaker and after 100 hours, I can only say "Wow". The bass is tight and both movies plus music sound awesome. I crossover these 7001sc at 40hz and they sound even better. If money isn't a WAF, buy these speakers before they are all gone.

It doesn't matter how much you spend on speakers, you will not find anything that sounds better than these.
Oh, and don't fall for that advertised shipping weight.
These ship at 135 lbs. and weigh 121 lbs. on your floor.
That 75 lbs is so that they can get a much cheaper shipping charge added to your order..wink, wink.

It will take approximately 75-100 hours of use before they are properly broken in, and once they are, they will blow you away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blows your mind!, January 27, 2013
I got my BP7001SC ordered from Amazon and it was fulfilled by Listenup. I got it delivered overnight and I placed the order at 2:50pm and got it delivered by Fedex by 9:50am the next morning. Shipping was on time and packaging was excellent, couldn't have asked for more. The speakers were very heavy and the Fedex guy himself asked how much are the speakers as they are so heavy. I couldn't move the speakers myself from the Foyer to my family room and had requested my friend to help me move the speakers and got them hooked up to my Onkyo receiver with my other Supercube subwoofer and 7.1 system.

I earlier had BP7002 and they replaced with these super monster towers. Now its close to 60 hours since I used the speakers and I can feel the difference now. I am still waiting for the remainder 40 hours before I can fully appreciate my super towers. I am a great fan of Definitive Technology and have all my speaker systems from them. I am immensely pleased with the performance of... Read more
