1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By This review is from: RF-7 II Reference Series II Flagship Floorstanding Speaker - Cherry *B-Stock* (Electronics) I've gone through a few floor standing speakers that were thin and tall and that was how the sound was, thin with no real bottom unless a sub was added in. Even then there was no real punch from the speakers. I was looking for speakers that would put you in the front row at a concert without breaking me. I was hesitant about getting these because they were 2-way and I felt some of the mids wouldn't stand out. I'm not an audiophile but I am a musician of 30 years and know what I want to hear. These get loud with little power and have a big full bodied sound that is very crisp and articulate and surprisingly the horns are very smooth sounding. I'm powering them through a Marantz SR6006 which is 110 watts and running a Polk 12" sub for the 40hz and down. Even though these so far came closest to what I was wanting to hear, the sound wouldn't carry across my 24' x 24' mancave and hit me like my PA speakers do in the bars so just for the heck of it I purchased a inexpensive but high quality...
