First introduced in 1957, the Heresy, a three-way design, started out as a compact center channel speaker to accompany the Klipschorn® in three-speaker stereo arrays. In 1985, we made some changes and improvements to this model and re-released it as the Heresy II. Today, the new Heresy III has a more powerful woofer, a bi-wire network, and a titanium diaphragm tweeter with a larger magnet assembly. As an owner of the Heresy II's for around 20 years, I have seen the quality of the Klipsch Heritage line is outstanding. My Heresy II's are in another room, still in service. I also own a pair of Cornwall III's, they blend beautifully with the Heresy III as an integral component in my home entertainment system. Unbelievable at it may sound, these Heresy III's are replacing my Reference Monitors which cost three times as much.As a former Sound Engineer and New Yorker who attends many live performances, I'm keenly aware of how real musical instruments and vocalists sound stage. This is where most speakers just get it wrong. Electrostatics make everything sound big, very big. If you're listening to a Symphony that's great but if you're listening to a Saxophone solo or a vocalist solo this bigger than life sounds unconvincing. Likewise with very large piston type conventional speakers. Listening to a female vocalist on a certain very large and very expensive conventional speaker, sounded like I was inside the performer's mouth. Read more 11 of 21 people found the following review helpful  WARNING, INFERIOR BUILD QUALITY, By This review is from: Klipsch Heresy III Heritage Series Floorstanding Speaker - Each (Cherry) (Electronics) I had a pair years ago, sounded great and built like a tank with Birch Plywood, Just got a pair and they are half the speaker they used to be, i.e. they still sound great, but they are built like crap using MDF and glue guns. Save your money and buy a speaker from a company that cares about build quality as much as they do sound. Also, dont buy the excuses that they use high quality MDF and it has tighter tolerances,better resins, blah-blah, crap material is crap material. |
